Anne Campbell
I am a photographer and artist, living and working in North East Scotland where I run the darkrooms at Grays School of Art (Aberdeen) and share a studio in the village of Monymusk with five other artists.
While studying for my Masters in Fine Art, specialising in a variety of alternative photographic processes, I started to experiment with bromoil, resulting in some very messy, unsatisfactory prints. I had seen some of Dave Symonds bromoil images online and sent him an email asking for advice. He very kindly helped me to troubleshoot and subsequently invited me to join the Circle.
Like many analogue processes, bromoil images are best seen in ‘real life’, as some of the depth, textures and tones of the images get lost, even with the best digital reproduction.
Receiving a box of bromoils several times a year, allows us to see a variety of original work, delivered straight to your door!
