ALLAN SMITH
My interest in Photography began during the years I attended the Glasgow School of Art (1950-1955), when I had also purchased a second hand Leica 3B camera. I then joined the Glasgow and West Scotland photographic club and later Leica Postal Portfolios. I am still a member of the latter as well as the Scottish Photographic Circle.
My interest in Bromoil started in Circle 7 of the Leica Postal Portfolios with the excellent Bromoil prints submitted by Richard Taylor, one of its members. His influence and help enabled me to get started.
A visit to Callender House Museum in Falkirk, where the Bromoil Circle of Great Britain had an exhibition, interested me to make further enquiries regarding membership. I was delighted to be accepted and find the fascination of bromoiling to be an ongoing learning process.
The members of the Circle have been most helpful with hints and tips and imparting their experience and knowledge.
